So imagine my surprise to open the box to get something that looks like it came from a library shelf! See video below. Damaged spine and frayed ends. Not happy with losing 27 dollars total for this quality. Will not buy from them again. I had read the first three of these when they came out as regular comics and enjoyed them. They are very well illustrated, and the dialogue is also quite excellent. It kind of reminds me of an actual gaming session, if the players had some time to tighten up their interplay and interaction a bit. Just the right amount of playful banter mixed in with a cool storyline, and characters everybody can appreciate. When the group encounters an orc raiding party attacking a caravan, and the orc leader ends up being quite a bit more intelligent than they figured, while still being a deadly warrior, i had to laugh a bit, as this was exactly how it would have played out on the tabletop. As often happens in gaming groups, every plan, whether well thought out or spur of the moment falls through, and yet luck prevails. The characters, and especially the Fighter leader continually find themselves in life or death situations, but always manage a self-deprecating quip or get to listen to one of their party members laughing at them as they stave off death in various forms (orcs, undead, dopplegangers, etc...).I really enjoyed this. Additionally, it is bound just like a D&D Hardcover manual, which i really appreciated. Far more durable and user friendly than any other graphic novel or compilation i have ever purchased. The pre-order price was great $14.69. Five stars for this one. I think you will enjoy it. :)p.s. I forgot to mention this earlier, but after #6 ends (set up as chapter six in this book), they have gone ahead and converted the first two chapters into D&D module form, set up for groups of 1st and 2nd level characters so you can play through as an actual adventure if you are so inclined.
